The animation film “Mary and the Witch’s Flower” have similarities with Studio Ghibli films

I like Studio Ghibli films very much.

Studio Ghibli

Studio Ghibli is one of the greatest animation companies in Japan.

The most famous director in Studio Ghibli was Hayao Miyazaki but he stopped creating animation films some years ago.

Recently I was excited to see the trailer for “Mary and the Witch’s Flower”,  since it looked like Ghibli films.

It turns out this movie has been made by people who worked for studio Ghibli.

Producer of “Mary and the Witch’s Flower”

“Yoshiaki Nishimura” also produced The Tale of the Princess Kaguya

They founded Studio Ponoc after leaving Studio Ghibli, and the first movie of Studio Ponoc is “Mary and the Witch’s Flower”.

“Mary and the Witch’s Flower” has many similarities to Studio Ghibli films.

There are arguments both for and against this idea. Some people said “Mary and the Witch’s Flower” is a copy of studio Ghibli films.

Personally I think it is good thing because we can enjoy talking about the similarities, and it remains us of many fantastic memories.
