How to refill IC card for transportation in Japan

I surprised to hear that it is difficult for foreign tourists to refill IC card for train because of the Japanese english ”charge”.

We Japanese are using the word “charge” as “refill” while native speakers are using it as “pay for serves” and “use credit card”.

There are only “charge” button on tickets machines to refill IC card in Japan.

So foreign tourists tend to misunderstand the meaning of the button.
